AI Code Rescue is a service by Coretechs Consulting that reviews, stabilizes, and fixes codebases built by AI tools (ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, etc.), junior developers, or founders who moved fast and now have a fragile app in production. We triage the code, find the risks, and give you a clear path forward — whether that's a fix plan, a refactor, or a rebuild.
Founders and technical leads who have an app in production that works — but feels fragile. Common situations: the AI-built MVP is now handling real users, the original dev left, or you've inherited code no one understands. If you're nervous about what's running in production, you're the right fit.
Yes. Our 30+ engineers cover 24+ languages and frameworks — React, Next.js, Vue, Node, Python, PHP, Laravel, Django, Ruby on Rails, .NET, and more. If an AI tool generated it, we can read it.
No. We see the same problems in code written by junior devs, offshore teams, or anyone who moved fast without strong engineering practices. If the code is in production and creating risk, we can help — regardless of how it was written.
You talk to Gil Austin, Coretechs' founder. No sales script — just a real conversation about what's going on. You describe the symptoms, we ask questions, and by the end of the call you'll have a clear read on severity and next steps. No prep needed.
After the consultation call, we'll set up a secure method — typically read-only access to your GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket repo. You stay in control. We never push to production without your explicit approval.
For a standard codebase (under 50k lines), we can deliver a written triage report within 3–5 business days after access is granted. Larger codebases or urgent situations — we'll scope it on the call.
The initial consultation call with Gil is free. After that, pricing depends on the scope — a triage-only engagement is a fixed fee, while remediation work is either fixed-price (for clearly scoped fixes) or time-and-materials. You'll get a written estimate before any work begins.
Triage is a read-only review: we assess your code, identify risks, and deliver a prioritized written report with recommendations. Remediation is where we actually fix things — patching security holes, refactoring bad patterns, adding tests and documentation. You can stop after triage if you just need a map.
Yes. Many clients move into a retainer after rescue — either for ongoing development or as a fractional engineering team. Coretechs has a 90% client retention rate over 10 years, so this is a natural path if you want continued support.
Absolutely. We sign an NDA before any code is shared. Confidentiality is standard practice for us — we've been working with sensitive client systems since 1986.
We flag it immediately — not buried in a report. Critical findings (exposed secrets, auth bypasses, open injection points) are communicated directly to you as soon as they're confirmed so you can take action right away, even before the full report is ready.
Yes. Coretechs is headquartered in Kensington, MD and our team is US-based. For clients with compliance requirements (government contracts, healthcare, finance), this matters — and we've been serving those clients for decades.
We'll tell you honestly if a rebuild is the better path — even if that's a harder answer. We'll also tell you when a refactor is sufficient and saves you money. Our job is to give you the right call, not the most expensive one.
Gil has 40+ years in the industry. One call gets you an honest assessment, direct feedback, and a clear picture of what it'll take to fix your code.
